Sarah Wheeler & Gina Hellis: Fragments and Flight
Sarah and Gina explore textile-based practices through distinct but complementary approaches. Gina’s mixed media, layered collages investigate fractures within contemporary society, bringing together elements to reflect division, connection and repair. Sarah’s intricately crafted textile butterflies, composed of thread, beads and sequins, are presented in framed displays that echo Victorian specimen collections. Together, their works examine themes of transformation, fragility and the ways in which materials can hold both personal and collective narratives.
