What’s On At Trinity’s 40th Anniversary Weekend?
40th Anniversary Weekend!
This year, Trinity Theatre celebrates a very exciting milestone, our 40th anniversary, and we are doing so in some style! We’ll be marking the occasion throughout the year but the August bank holiday weekend is fit to bursting with extra exciting community events.
What’s On At Trinity’s 40th Anniversary Weekend?
Trinity Variety Show
Friday 26th August 2022 · 7.30pm · Tickets £12
Over the last 40 years Trinity Theatre has played host to some amazing talent but we’ve also nurtured quite a bit of it ourselves! The Variety Show is our way of showcasing the brilliant people that make this venue special and we need YOU to make it happen.
We are looking for acts from all across our community be it magic, music, dance, drama or something in-between. Whether it’s your first or thousandth time on the stage, we would love to hear from you.
All acts should be no more than ten minutes long and you must be able to rehearse them yourselves before spending Thursday 25th August with our artistic director Sean Turner and our technical team who will help make sure the whole event looks brilliantly polished. To apply to take part, please fill in this simple online form and we’ll get back to you soon.
The deadline for submissions is July 5th 2022
Summer Fete – Saturday 27th August 2022 – 11am – 4pm – Free entry (but bring cash for stalls!)
There is nothing that says community quite like a good old-fashioned English country fete! Bring the whole family and expect all your favourites taking over the Trinity gardens – bouncy castles, face painting, a coconut shy, a tombola, a slime stall, hook-a-duck, corn hole and so much cake! There’ll be food offerings from local independent businesses and musical entertainment from up-and-coming artists & community groups. Come one, Come all!
The Ceilidh – Saturday 27th August 2022 – 6.30pm – 10pm – £15
Ceilidh /’keili’ / – a social event with Celtic folk music, traditional dancing, and storytelling.
If you have never done a ceilidh, you have been missing out one of life’s great pleasures. A good celtic band will have you forgetting your inhibitions whilst dancing like a gleeful lunatic, and we have secured one of the very best – License to Ceilidh have been featured on television many times and are one of the most in demand groups in the business.
So, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned barn dancer, join us for lappings of summer drinks, too much BBQ food and an unforgettable highland fling this bank holiday weekend.
The Trinity Anniversary Flag – Deadline for submissions – July 21st 2022
To mark our grand birthday and as part of our wider heritage project, we are inviting anyone with a connection to Trinity (Theatre, Church or other) to submit an image to be featured on our anniversary collage flag, due to be hoisted at the top of our new clocktower attraction on Saturday 27th August, at our celebration summer fete.
The brief is pretty wide, we want to see visual representations of What Trinity means to you. We can accept work in pretty much any media so let your imagination run wild. All we ask is that you make your submission A4 in size and landscape.
To submit your work please use the following link, fill out the form and upload your digital submission. If you are unable to use the online form, you can bring your work into the box office during our opening hours and we’ll do the rest.
So, what does Trinity mean to you? We look forward to finding out.
The Great Trinity Muck in – Sunday 28th August 2022 – 11am – 8pm – Free
Trinity is a special place, a place fuelled by the extraordinary generosity of volunteers, without whom the last forty years would never have been possible. Now, we want to future proof the building to start the next forty in rude health, and we need the whole community to help us.
The Great Trinity Muck In asks for YOUR time and hopefully in return, we can offer you some new skills. Worst comes to worst – there’ll be free cake!
We are looking for cheerful cleaners, delightful decorators, brilliant bakers, green-fingered gardeners and resourceful repairers. But don’t worry, we would love to hear about any other skills you might have!
There’ll be plenty for little helpers too with exciting sessions on how to make bug hotels and Storytime performances on our super-special toy theatre.
If you would like to take part please fill out the following form so we can get an idea of numbers and plan out what we can achieve. We will get back in touch very soon.
Lets celebrate Trinity’s past whilst protecting its future – with big mugs of tea and slabs of cake.
Thanks for being part of our journey so far and we look forward to sharing the next forty years with you.
