Meet Victoria, who plays Andy in Trinity Theatre Club’s production of Stepping Out! 🤩
Describe your character in one sentence.
Andy, (long for Ann) is naturally a shy and unassuming character but by the end of the play, he grows in confidence and really finds her (tap dancing) feet!
What do you like about your character?
I was really drawn to audition for the character of Andy because despite her quiet nature she is absolutely not afraid to speak her mind.
Do you all know how to tap dance?
No!
Meet Lee, who plays Geoffrey in Trinity Theatre Club’s production of Stepping Out! 🤩
Describe your character in one sentence.
A decent guy, who’s lonely and shy, just looking to fit back into a social life.
What are you looking forward to most?
Performing with friends, doing what we love, seeing people not through a screen!
Describe Stepping Out in three words.
Funny insightful journey.
Meet Christa, who plays Dorothy in Trinity Theatre Club’s production of Stepping Out! 🤩
Tell us about Dorothy.
Dorothy (Dotty) is scatty and worries a lot so is inclined to go wrong or be over exuberant as she is full of such enthusiasm for the class. It’s just great fun to play her and develop her character bouncing off all the lovely characters, I love the team work and the dancing.
Can you tap dance?
I don’t know how to tap dance but hey that’s what the play is all about!
Meet Julie, Rebecca and Kate, who play Maxine, Rose and Sylvia in Trinity Theatre Club’s production of Stepping Out! 🤩
In three words, describe Stepping Out, and what are you looking forward to most?
Julie: Funny, joyous, heart-warming. I am just so excited to have the opportunity to perform again in front of a live audience alongside a fabulous and very lovely cast and production team.
Kate: Riotous, hilarious, knackering!! After eating and drinking my way through lockdown, I really need the exercise of a dancing show!! I have really missed my actor friends, the camaraderie (and sometimes hilarity) of rehearsals, and the thrill of entertaining an audience.
Rebecca: Fun, Chaotic, exhausting. What am I looking forward to most? Just getting back on the stage!
Rebecca, how important is theatre in these difficult times?
Being part of this production has been excellent as far as covid anxiety concerned as it makes you focus on something else and in a safe way. I think as far as an audience is concerned being outside is great for the same reasons as its the gateway back to normality. Theatre and escapism is alway excellent for mental health.
Kate, what are the challenges of outdoor theatre?
Challenges of an outdoor show: making ourselves heard (although might not be such a problem when the character is as loud as mine!). Also will be interesting getting used to the specially made stage, rather than the lovely big TT stage we’re used to.
Julie, what do you think people will enjoy about the show?
A play with tap dancing, what’s not to like! But seriously, I think the audience will enjoy the hilarious interactions between a group of unlikely friends all seeking a weekly escape from the problems in their lives.
