Here at Trinity, we’ve grown a working ensemble to shout about, and we’re firm believers in having cast members that inspire and drive us.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we’re going to be highlighting a number of our incredibly talented staff throughout the day:

Name and position at Trinity?

Rachel Rose, Youth Officer.

Who is your biggest role model?

I don’t necessarily have one role model in particular, I tend to be inspired both personally and creatively by the family, friends and colleagues that I have around me, their approach to work, their passions and how they deal with the challenges life throws at us all always motivates me to do my best and when the going gets tough, we get a little tougher!

What’s your favourite aspect of working at Trinity?

I love the fact that no two days are the same. I can be running Youth Theatre sessions one moment, going into schools and delivering speech bubbles, pretending to fight dragons and then back trying to work out how to fit a huge inflatable dinosaur costume through the backstage doors the next! The energy and passion in the building from the staff in the lead up to a show in particular is great and I feel very lucky to be part of such a great team.

How would the rest of #TeamTrinity describe you? 

I think the team would probably describe me as a bit of a costume machine as I am usually running around with mountains of costumes preparing for our numerous shows throughout the year, but I hope they would also see me as a positive face in the building as well as quite creative and crafty (I hope in the good way).

What’s the one thing our Trinity audience might not know about you?

As well as working at Trinity, I also work part time for Nova Children’s Project, a children’s charity who provide play-schemes and clubs for children with moderate to severe learning disabilities with associated challenging behaviour and/or complex medical needs. I started working with these kids almost 5 years ago and absolutely love it, we provide clubs as well as residentials and trips and it’s been amazing to work with such a fun group of young people.

How have you been keeping busy through lockdown?

Throughout the beginning of lockdown I was sewing NHS scrub bags and since then I’ve opened an Etsy (RachRoseCreative) which has been a great way for me to continue sewing and get to make some products with a focus on sustainability. All of the fabrics I use are scrap/recycled fabrics so giving them a second lease of life has been a really fun way to keep myself productive!
