Spotlight on… Louise Morris, Managing Director of AV Trinity Ltd, our Theatre Partner

Interviews

We sat down with Louise Morris, Managing Director of AV Trinity Ltd, our Theatre Partner.  Our Corporate Partners allow Trinity to deliver a broad range of programming, and fulfil our commitment to the local community – we are grateful for their continued support.  To explore the creative opportunities a theatre and arts venue can offer your company email corporate@trinitytheatre.net.

What does Trinity Theatre mean to you?

We are so fortunate here in Tunbridge Wells to have one of the leading arts and performance venues in the South East of England.  It is a true community hub and has helped me to introduce my children to the delights of live theatre.

You’re a keen athlete and fundraise extensively for Hospice in the Weald – why is this important to you?

I wouldn’t class myself as an athlete, but I do enjoy running and the odd spin class.  I sadly lost my dad and a couple of friends over the last 10 years all of whom benefitted from the amazing care provided by the Hospice in the Weald.  In return I like to do my bit of fundraising whenever I can, and this includes doing the annual 10k “undulating” run around Tunbridge Wells.   AV Trinity has, on a corporate basis, also supported the Hospice for many years via various charitable events including our annual quiz night.

Community clearly is key in every aspect of your personal and professional life. AV Trinity is our current Theatre Partner, why does this type of relationship matter to your business?

One of the key reasons that I decided to partner with the Trinity Theatre is to reward my staff with opportunity to see shows in recognition of the great job that they do at AV Trinity.  But also, it is a case of providing us with some local name awareness and exposure whilst helping an important hub within our community.

What was your first experience of Trinity?

Having been born and bred in Tunbridge Wells, the theatre has been well known to me and my family for many years.  I can’t recall my first experience specifically and have lost track of the number of times that I have been to the Trinity, but we particularly enjoy the Christmas shows, cinema and comedy nights.

If you could plan a perfect night out at Trinity, what would you watch, who would be in it and who would you invite?!

A comedy evening with friends, family and clients.  Laughter really is the best medicine and although I don’t have a particular favorite, I would like to see Joe Lycett and Romesh Ranganathan.

What excites you about the coming theatre programme?

The sheer variety of shows is incredible with something for everyone.  My children are already getting so excited about the Wind in the Willows and I am looking forward to going to one of the comedy nights soon with my husband and friends.

What’s your personal philosophy?

There are so many but from a personal life perspective; “live life to full”, “work hard and play hard… life really is too short not to!”

Others include; “treat others as you would wish to be treated” and “if you never try you will never know”.

What’s the most fun you’ve ever had?

Many years ago, my husband and I said we should try to do something new/different each year whether this be a holiday destination or activity such as skiing, camping, white water rafting so I’m finding it impossible to think of one single thing.  However, now that we have a young family I certainly have most fun being with them and continuing our ethos of trying something new.  We are off to Cornwall for half term to introduce them to body boarding!

What are you most proud of – both professionally and personally?

To have become a Chartered Financial Planner is a huge personal achievement due to the time, effort and sacrifice by me and my family

As a business, AV Trinity has had to overcome significant challenges in recent years following the death of our managing director but we have gone from strength to strength and have some of the most loyal and professional employees.

Tell us about your AV Trinity career

My CV is unusually short for someone who has worked in financial services for over 25 years! I joined AV Trinity as a trainee adviser and have been mentored by some amazing people. I have now achieved Chartered Financial Planner status and am Managing Director of a team of 28 wonderful people.
